Our professions

The profession of bus and tram driver spans several fields :

  • Technical : the driver drives the vehicle and ensures the safety and comfort of passengers in various traffic conditions, and they make sure the imposed route and highway code are respected at all times. The driver is in charge of the vehicle and must ensure its conformity.

  • Sales : the driver informs passengers of routes, prices, journey times. They also sell transport tickets, manage the cash register and ticket stock.

  • Human : the driver welcomes and advises passengers to give them the best quality service. They are responsible for the safety of the people they transport.

Tram drivers are expected to alternate between the bus and tram, with 50% of their time for each one. To work as a driver, you need a ‘D’ licence to be able to transport passengers and special road driving training (FIMO/FCO in France), or another professional equivalent qualification (e.g. CTRIV in France).

Labourers, technicians, team leaders, heads of maintenance all do their part in ensuring the optimisation of the network. To ensure continual improvement of the quality of our vehicles and our infrastructures, these roles:

  • Guarantee an optimal level of availability, reliability and safety of equipment ;

  • Roll out processes with curative and preventative maintenance ; 

  • Support projects ; 

  • Ensure our customers can expect reliable, comfortable and safe journeys.

Maintenance covers a diverse range of activities.


Tramway maintenance
 

Tramway maintenance has 3 areas :

  • rolling stock : tram train ;

  • high currents: the tramway platform, the tracks, the switches, the overhead contact line and the electrical substations ;

  • Low voltages: station equipment, railway signalling, ticketing, SAEIV, radio and centralised technical management.

 

Traffic control professions

 

A regulator is responsible for regulating traffic on a daily basis. This role requires extreme rigour, reactivity and good stress management. There are several complementary roles involved :

  • Manage the Centralised Control Room (PCC) ; 

  • Monitor the bus, tram and cable car network using the passenger information display systems (SAEIV) ; 

  • Work on-site (technical interventions, personal injuries and accidents involving equipment) and in partnership with public services (Police, Fire Brigade, Brest Métropole) ; 

  • Assign drivers to their positions on a daily basis ; 

  • Keep up-to-date with skills in bus, tram and cable car driving.

To work as a regulator in this field, you need a "D" licence to be able to transport passengers and special road driving training (FIMO/FCO in France).

 

Careers in customer services


There are three types of commercial positions:

  • The sales agent welcomes and advises customers at the Bibus shop on everything related to transport tickets, fares, passes and subscriptions, the b-klub loyalty programme, timetables, route routes, etc. It informs the patient and provides him with appropriate information face-to-face, in order to best meet his travel needs. Endowed with interpersonal skills and an adapted sense of dialogue, the sales agent makes the quality of service rendered his main priority. He takes into account the needs of each customer to determine with him the best transport solution that suits him.

  • The customer relations agent at the call center answers calls from three telephone numbers:

    • Allo Bibus on 02 98 80 30 30 : for network customers, occasional passengers and/or subscribers of the Bibus network concerning tickets and subscriptions, lines and services, timetables or any request relating to the modes of transport offered in the metropolis ;

    • Accemo on 02 98 34 42 46 : the transport service reserved for people with reduced mobility for all information, registration for the service and trip reservation ;

    • Transport on demand on 02 98 34 42 22 : for any registration, reservation or cancellation of a journey on lines 90 to 97.

 

  • The customer relations agent at the PCC (Centralized Command Post). Constantly monitoring and attentive to the traffic situation, it informs passengers in real time and transmits traffic information on on-demand services and complaints. Familiar with computer tools and social networks, he is the constant link between customers and the company's various departments. Organized and methodical, he defines priorities according to the imperatives identified. As a referent interlocutor, the customer relations agent is the guarantor of compliance with quality commitments and deadlines. A force of proposal and all involved, they improve and make customer service reliable in a constructive and positive dynamic. A sense of service and contact combined with seriousness and professional integrity: these are the assets of a good customer relations agent.
