Plougastel-Daoulas is located on a peninsula to the south-east of Brest, from which it is separated by the mouth of the River Élorn. A peninsula that is both urban and rural, Plougastel-Daoulas boasts a diverse heritage, including its famous Calvary, one of the most beautiful in Brittany. The commune is also famous for its strawberries, which have made the local population rich.
